Join Us! Our laboratory sits at the intersection of biophysics, structural biology, and biochemistry, where we investigate the structural dynamics of membrane proteins at single-molecule resolution. Although membrane proteins serve as central regulators of cellular life and account for the majority of current drug targets, much about their folding and intermolecular interactions remains poorly understood. We thus combine high-resolution single-molecule techniques, such as magnetic tweezers, with molecular dynamics simulations, offering new perspectives on how membrane proteins fold and interact—questions that have been difficult to address through conventional approaches. As our research lies at the crossroads of multiple disciplines, we welcome students from diverse backgrounds in chemistry, life sciences, physics, and computational science. Above all, we deeply value the curiosity and adventurous spirit needed to tackle fundamental questions and to chart paths that others have yet to take. For inquiries, please feel free to contact the principal investigator, Prof. Duyoung Min, at dymin@unist.ac.kr.
